My recent trip to Cancun experience

Hi! I hope you are doing well, staying safe through these crazy times and enjoying the holidays. First, thank you so much for being a member with ID90 Travel - we truly appreciate the relationship we have with our community and we will continue to support each other until this is over. Travel will always be a source for human connection and fulfilling life experiences so I know we will recover.

Second, I wanted to share my experience on a recent business trip to Cancun, MX. (Somebody has to do it!) Our hotel partners have been sharing their safety procedures with us over the past few months, but I had yet to experience their hospitality firsthand. In doing my research, I found that new cases were far less in the entire state of Quintana Roo than my county here in Texas, and the majority were not in the tourist areas.

The first precaution put in place is a hotel occupancy limit of 60% throughout all of Mexico although the majority I visited were at 30 - 40% occupancy. I stayed at 4 different properties and met with 8 different resorts. I was impressed with the precautions put in place:

  • Required temperature check and sanitization of hands before being allowed on the property

  • Additional temperature check when going into restaurants and sanitization of hands

  • Hand sanitizer is everywhere in the resort, at elevators, doors, etc

  • All staff wore masks at all times inside and out

  • Guests were required to wear masks indoors in most places

In summary, I felt safer in Cancun than I did in Texas, especially since I was outdoors most of the time. While ID90 Travel can not make guarantees about your health and safety while traveling, we can pass on our knowledge and expertise of the best places to take a trip during this time! I hope you found my experience helpful. Don't hesitate to reply back to this email or reach out to vacations@id90travel.com if we can help you with anything!

Have a safe, merry holiday and a happy New Year!
